Rolling Meadows Bathroom Remodeling
Rolling Meadows Bathroom Remodeling
GS CONSTRUCTION & REMODELING
GS Construction & Remodeling has remodeled bathrooms for Rolling Meadows homeowners since 2015. Gregory and Patryk are a father-son team with more than 40 years between them, and one of them is on your job personally.
A Rolling Meadows bathroom usually takes 3–5 weeks. The parts that matter are the ones you never see again once the walls close, so one of us is here while it happens and the village signs off before anything gets covered. You get the scope written out line by line up front, not one number you can't check.
- Free in-home estimate from an owner, not a salesperson
- Waterproofing and shower pans built to spec, not to schedule
- Plumbing and electrical permits pulled with Rolling Meadows
- Workmanship warranty on every bathroom — our commitment never expires
"Typically 3–5 weeks on site, with an owner there daily."

Bathroom remodeling in Rolling Meadows, IL
Bathroom remodeling in Rolling Meadows frequently involves transforming the compact, often original bathrooms found in the city’s predominant mid-century ranches. These earlier homes, built rapidly in the 1950s, typically feature smaller footprints where optimizing every inch is crucial for modern comfort. We often reconfigure layouts to accommodate larger vanities or walk-in showers, moving beyond the standard tub-shower combination that was common. For the split-levels and townhomes from the 1960s and 70s, bathroom updates often focus on modernizing aesthetics and improving functionality, addressing outdated fixtures and finishes. Upgrading plumbing and ventilation systems is a consistent theme across all home eras in Rolling Meadows, ensuring long-term performance and efficiency.
What Rolling Meadows homeowners ask for
Rolling Meadows homeowners frequently request converting cramped tub-shower combos into spacious walk-in showers, especially in their primary bathrooms. Another common request is for dual vanities in shared bathrooms, a significant upgrade from the single pedestal sinks often found in original layouts. We also see strong demand for enhanced lighting solutions and improved storage, particularly built-in cabinetry, to maximize space in these often smaller bathrooms.
About Rolling Meadows
Rolling Meadows was built as a mid-century experiment in affordable homeownership, a vision that continues to shape its character and makes it a prime location for thoughtful home renovations. From the compact ranches near Kirchoff Road to the split-levels and townhomes that emerged later, the housing stock of Rolling Meadows consistently presents opportunities for thoughtful, value-adding renovations that enhance both functionality and aesthetic appeal, ensuring homes continue to serve their residents for generations.
Builder Kimball Hill began raising two- and three-bedroom ranches here in 1953 at a remarkable pace of twenty houses a week, and roughly 700 had sold by the city's 1955 incorporation. These original Kimball Hill ranches still anchor the neighborhoods around Kirchoff Road and Kimball Hill Park, forming the core of many established residential areas. The 1960s and '70s saw an expansion of the housing stock, adding split-levels, townhomes, and condominiums, offering a diverse range of properties for different lifestyles. The Golden Corridor along Golf Road grew into a major office district during this period, bringing jobs and further solidifying Rolling Meadows as a desirable place to live and work. With highly regarded District 15 elementary schools, Rolling Meadows High School in District 214, and quick access to major thoroughfares like Route 53 and I-90, the city offers excellent educational opportunities and convenient commutes. The Salt Creek bike path offers recreational opportunities, further enhancing the quality of life.
The rapid construction of Kimball Hill ranches starting in 1953 often means original bathrooms were minimal, potentially requiring significant reconfiguration to add more than one, or to expand existing ones into primary suites from small adjacent bedrooms. Homes from the 1950s and 60s likely feature cast-iron drains and galvanized supply lines, necessitating full replacement during remodels, while later 70s townhomes might have more modern PVC or copper. Venting systems in these earlier homes often relied on rudimentary methods, requiring upgrades to meet current code for proper moisture control, especially with the compact floor plans. The original floor structures under tile in these ranches and split-levels may require reinforcement or leveling to support modern, heavier tile installations. The compact floor plans of these homes mean that creating primary suites often involves strategically combining or reallocating space from existing, smaller bedrooms, or designing thoughtful bump-outs to maximize existing footprints.
Bathroom remodels in Rolling Meadows necessitate permits for changes to plumbing, electrical, and structural elements. This includes inspections for drain and vent modifications, new electrical circuits for lighting or outlets, and proper waterproofing. GS Construction & Remodeling manages all permit applications and coordinates required inspections with the City of Rolling Meadows Community Development Department.

Using Houzz to find a great contractor who could complete work on 2 small bathrooms, I contacted GS Construction. Greg & Patryk arrived the next early evening to look at my projects. They are courteous and professional. Patryk sent me a detailed estimate by the next evening. After answering all my questions, a date was determined to being construction. Bath #1: Completely gutted and reconstructed. Every thing was taken. The low ceiling in the bathroom was raised by 1 foot, along with installing recessed lighting. The tile work was excellent. LOVE IT. (before and after photos) Bath #2: The shower stall had been remodeled the previous year but was constructed wrong, hence water was leaking onto the floor. The walls were taken out and new walls installed, along with new tiled walls and shower floor. All is perfect! I cannot say enough words about the excellent work performed by GS Construction. I highly recommend this company for any project.
