Schaumburg Bathroom Remodeling
GS CONSTRUCTION & REMODELING
GS Construction & Remodeling has remodeled bathrooms for Schaumburg homeowners since 2015. Gregory and Patryk are a father-son team with more than 40 years between them, and one of them is on your job personally.
A Schaumburg bathroom usually takes 3–5 weeks. The parts that matter are the ones you never see again once the walls close, so one of us is here while it happens and the village signs off before anything gets covered. You get the scope written out line by line up front, not one number you can't check.
- Free in-home estimate from an owner, not a salesperson
- Waterproofing and shower pans built to spec, not to schedule
- Plumbing and electrical permits pulled with Schaumburg
- Workmanship warranty on every bathroom — our commitment never expires
"Typically 3–5 weeks on site, with an owner there daily."

Bathroom remodeling in Schaumburg, IL
Bathroom remodeling in Schaumburg often means transforming the compact, original spaces found in the village's mid-century housing stock. We frequently encounter small, utilitarian bathrooms in Campanelli ranches and split-levels, or those within the larger Mor-Well homes in Timbercrest, where dated fixtures and inefficient layouts are common. Our projects typically involve reconfiguring these modest footprints to maximize space, replace worn materials, and update plumbing and electrical systems that have reached the end of their service life. Whether it's a primary suite bath in a two-story Lexington Fields home or a hall bath in a Nantucket Cove townhome, the goal is always to bring these spaces into the modern era of comfort and functionality. The opportunity to upgrade ventilation and waterproofing, often lacking in original construction, is a key part of these transformations.
What Schaumburg homeowners ask for
Schaumburg homeowners frequently request larger showers with custom tile work, often replacing original tub-shower combos, particularly in primary bathrooms. We also see strong demand for dual vanities, even in moderately sized spaces, and the integration of smart storage solutions to combat the limited footprint of many older bathrooms. Floating vanities and wall-mounted toilets are also gaining popularity for their modern aesthetic and ability to create a sense of more open floor space.
About Schaumburg
Schaumburg's housing stock, largely built from the mid-20th century onward, presents unique opportunities for renovation. We frequently open up compact kitchens, rebuild hall baths, finish basements, and construct additions to give homes the breathing room growing families seek.
Schaumburg's housing story truly begins in 1959, when builder Alfred Campanelli broke ground on Weathersfield near Schaumburg and Springinsguth Roads. This foundational development grew through more than twenty phases, eventually encompassing roughly a fifth of the village's housing. It started with the "W" section, where ranch models, often carrying New England names like Warwick and Winthrop for their streets, offered a distinct mid-century charm. Beyond Campanelli's influence, we also undertake numerous projects in Timbercrest, where Mor-Well Builders, from the mid-1960s onward, mixed ranches, raised ranches, split-levels, and two-story plans, each presenting unique opportunities for renovation. Similarly, the 1960s single-family blocks of Lexington Fields Estates and the late-1970s and '80s coach homes of Lexington Village offer a diverse array of properties that benefit from our expertise. A unique pocket of Schaumburg plays by different rules: the Olde Schaumburg Centre overlay district, established in 1978 around the Schaumburg and Roselle Road intersection, aims to preserve the character of what began in the 1840s as the farming settlement of Sarah's Grove.
The foundational Campanelli ranches in Weathersfield, starting in 1959, often feature single, compact hall bathrooms, frequently with cast-iron drains and galvanized supply lines that are now at the end of their service life. Mor-Well Builders' mix of ranches, raised ranches, split-levels, and two-story plans in Timbercrest from the mid-1960s onward means varying bathroom counts and layouts, but consistent needs for updated venting and floor structure under new tile. The 1960s single-family blocks of Lexington Fields Estates often present opportunities to carve primary suites with dedicated baths from smaller, adjacent bedrooms. Late-1970s and '80s coach homes in Lexington Village may have slightly larger, but still dated, bathrooms requiring full modernization. The compact kitchens often opened up in these homes suggest that existing plumbing stacks are centrally located, which can influence new bathroom additions or reconfigurations. The overall prevalence of mid-century construction means that original bathroom layouts and materials, including subflooring and wall finishes, will require comprehensive upgrades to meet modern standards.
Bathroom remodeling in Schaumburg requires plan review for changes to plumbing layouts, drain and vent systems, and structural alterations, all of which GS Construction & Remodeling expertly manages. We handle the entire process, from detailed drawings and submittals to coordinating all necessary inspections, including rough-in plumbing, electrical, and final approvals.

Using Houzz to find a great contractor who could complete work on 2 small bathrooms, I contacted GS Construction. Greg & Patryk arrived the next early evening to look at my projects. They are courteous and professional. Patryk sent me a detailed estimate by the next evening. After answering all my questions, a date was determined to being construction. Bath #1: Completely gutted and reconstructed. Every thing was taken. The low ceiling in the bathroom was raised by 1 foot, along with installing recessed lighting. The tile work was excellent. LOVE IT. (before and after photos) Bath #2: The shower stall had been remodeled the previous year but was constructed wrong, hence water was leaking onto the floor. The walls were taken out and new walls installed, along with new tiled walls and shower floor. All is perfect! I cannot say enough words about the excellent work performed by GS Construction. I highly recommend this company for any project.
