Long Lake has no village hall at all: it's an unincorporated lake community spread across Grant, Avon, and Lake Villa townships, wrapped around the lake it's named for — roughly a third of the area is water. It began as an early-1900s summer-cottage colony, its first cottages arriving as catalog lumber kits at the Round Lake depot, and is now a year-round community of about 3,700.
